COMPLETED PROJECT EXAMPLES

Consulting & Permitting: Depot Park

Longleaf Environmental was asked to intervene in a situation between our client and the City of Gainesville. The contractor asked us to evaluate using excavated soil from the Wetland Park site at another property about a mile away, (Depot Park).

We advised our client to sample the soil and let us negotiate with the city so that this material could be transported a short distance and used on another city project. Our staff appealed to the City of Gainesville and confirmed that the soil was clean and free of contaminants.

Following a meeting with our staff and our client, the city approved using the excavated soil from the Wetland Park at Depot Park. This saved our client significant time and money and made use of a local material that needed to be excavated and removed from the Wetland Park regardless.

Environmental Consulting: Lamont, Florida

Longleaf Environmental was contracted to assess and provide consultation to the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD) on a 351-acre property in Jefferson County, Florida.

Our staff mobilized to the site, consulted with the property owner to outline the project boundaries and performed an Environmental Site Assessment detailing potential environmental conditions, soil types, Historical Archeologic Resources, Threatened & Endangered Species and setbacks to the Aucilla River which borders the property.

Based on the size of the property, our firm sent two experienced staff members who spent the majority of a day thoroughly assessing the entire property.
