Lago Verde Mine

Longleaf Environmental performed an environmental assessment and assisted with permitting of a 45-acre mine near Spring Hill, Florida. Our work was related to a purchase of the property by our client. We performed a Phase I ESA and evaluated geologic conditions at the property for the commercial lender.

Longleaf Environmental reviewed permitting status with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFMD) and oversaw geotechnical and geologic assessments that were performed with a drill rig.

Plane Crash: Brooksville, Florida

Our firm was contracted to assess and remediate a plane crash that occurred in the backyard of residential home in Brooksville, Florida.

Longleaf Environmental mobilized to the site, performed a soil assessment and covered the area that had been impacted with aviation fuel from the planes’ wings. We returned to the site to perform a soil excavation and manage the proper removal and disposal of impacted soil.

Finally, we submitted confirmatory soil samples to the FDEP confirming that the property had been properly remediated. Responding promptly, addressing the impacted area and knowing the proper protocol save our client a lot of time and money.
